Guwahati Police have solved a reported case of scooty theft following a prompt investigation by the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Khetri Police Station. The development was confirmed through an official update shared by Guwahati Police on X.<\/p>\n
The accused has been identified as Manoranjan Barman (35), a resident of Ghunusha village under Jagirod. He was apprehended in connection with the theft of a scooty bearing registration number AS21 L 2771.<\/p>\n
During the course of the investigation, the accused confessed to stealing the scooty from the Durung area. Police stated that he had tampered with the vehicle\u2019s number plate in an attempt to evade identification and avoid detection by law enforcement agencies.<\/p>\n
Based on the confession, the police recovered the stolen scooty from Jagirod Railway Station. The altered number plate used by the accused was also seized during the recovery operation.<\/p>\n
