Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on Thursday handed over appointment letters to seven newly selected Assam Education Service (AES) officers, marking another step towards strengthening the state\u2019s education administration at the grassroots level. The appointments were made through the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).<\/p>\n
The appointment letters were distributed at a ceremonial function held in the conference hall of the Minister\u2019s office at Janata Bhawan in Dispur. The newly appointed officers include Bibhuti Charan Baruah, Polash Kakoty, Khirush Missong, Bedabrata Gogoi, Arun Jyoti Dutta, Madan Pegu, and Mithun Jahari. They will serve in key administrative roles as Inspectors of Schools and District Elementary Education Officers, positions that play a crucial role in monitoring and improving the functioning of educational institutions across the state.<\/p>\n
Sharing the development on X, Pegu described the occasion as a privilege and congratulated the officers on taking up what he termed a \u201csignificant responsibility.\u201d He noted that these inductions would further reinforce the education administration at the grassroots, where effective implementation of policies and supervision of schools are essential.<\/p>\n
Addressing the gathering, the Education Minister emphasized that the officers had been entrusted with major responsibilities from the very first day of their service. He urged them to discharge their duties with sincerity, integrity, and dedication, underlining that their roles would have a direct impact on the quality of education delivery in Assam.<\/p>\n
Pegu stressed the importance of officers having a thorough understanding of the National Education Policy (NEP), existing education laws and rules, as well as financial management systems. Such knowledge, he said, would enable them to contribute more effectively to strengthening the department and ensuring better governance in the education sector.<\/p>\n
The Minister also directed the department to organize a training programme for the newly recruited officers to help them adapt to their responsibilities and administrative roles. He further advised the officers to seek guidance and support from their senior colleagues whenever required, highlighting the value of experience and teamwork in public service.<\/p>\n
The programme was attended by Commissioner and Secretary of the Education Department Narayan Konwar, Director of Secondary Education Mamata Hojai, and other senior officials of the department, reflecting the importance attached to the induction of the new officers.<\/p>\n
