A major drug trafficking attempt was foiled in Mizoram after the Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Excise and Narcotics Department, recovered heroin worth nearly \u20b92.97 crore during a joint operation in Aizawl.<\/p>\n
According to a post shared by The Assam Rifles on X, the operation was carried out on May 1, 2026, at Ramthar North area in Aizawl district.<\/p>\n
During the operation, security personnel recovered 397 grams of Heroin No-4 from the possession of the accused. Officials said the seized narcotics are estimated to be worth approximately \u20b92.97 crore in the international market.<\/p>\n
The joint team also apprehended four individuals in connection with the case. The identities of the accused were not disclosed immediately.<\/p>\n
The recovered contraband and the arrested individuals have been handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department for further investigation and necessary legal action.<\/p>\n
