New Delhi<\/strong>: With doctors warning that his health has entered a critical phase, activist Sonam Wangchuk has reiterated that he will not end his indefinite hunger strike before July 20, urging supporters to participate in a planned march to Parliament coinciding with the start of the Monsoon Session.<\/p>\n

Addressing supporters at the protest site in Delhi, the 59-year-old education reformer said he remained determined despite growing physical weakness. He appealed for a peaceful and large-scale participation in the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) proposed march, saying it would provide an opportunity to place their demands before the nation’s lawmakers.<\/p>\n

In a lighter moment, Wangchuk told supporters that he would “stay alive till July 20 at any cost” and jokingly remarked that he would “come back as a ghost” if the march failed to draw a significant turnout, prompting cheers from those present.<\/p>\n

Wangchuk is on an indefinite hunger strike seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET examination paper leak. He has maintained that ending the fast without any response from the government would defeat the purpose of the protest.<\/p>\n

Doctors monitoring his condition have expressed serious concern over the prolonged fast. According to his medical team, Wangchuk has lost around nine kilograms and has been surviving only on water for nearly 20 days. They warned that the continued lack of nutrition could pose a serious risk to his vital organs if the fast continues.<\/p>\n

The Delhi High Court has also taken note of the situation, directing authorities to monitor Wangchuk’s health every day and ensure that medical assistance is provided immediately if his condition worsens.<\/p>\n

The protest began on June 20 under the banner of the Cockroach Janta Party, with Wangchuk joining the agitation on June 28. As the hunger strike enters its 20th day, attention remains focused on both his deteriorating health and the planned Parliament march scheduled for July 20.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
