A joint operation by security and law enforcement agencies in Assam led to the seizure of 8.2 kg of morphine, with the consignment estimated to be worth around \u20b913 crore, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.<\/p>\n
The operation was conducted by personnel from Cachar Police, Sribhumi Police and the Assam Rifles at Badarpur Ghat, according to the Chief Minister’s post on social media.<\/p>\n
Sarma said the suspected narcotics were discovered concealed inside a chamber built into a vehicle’s fuel tank. One person was apprehended during the operation.<\/p>\n
The seized substance, identified by the authorities as morphine, along with the apprehended individual, has been taken into custody for further investigation.<\/p>\n
The operation is part of ongoing efforts by Assam’s law enforcement agencies to intercept illegal drug consignments and prevent narcotics from being transported through the state.<\/p>\n
