Guwahati: <\/strong>Several train services operating through the Lumding-Badarpur hill section have been affected as the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) carries out restoration work near New Harangajao station.<\/p>\n

The railway authorities have taken temporary operational measures after settlement was detected on tracks along Line-1 and Line-2 in the affected stretch. Train movement is currently being handled through Line-3, with additional safety precautions in place while repair and restoration activities continue.<\/p>\n

As a result of the operational changes, the Guwahati-Silchar Express (Train No. 15615) scheduled to run on August 14 has been cancelled. The corresponding Silchar-Guwahati service (Train No. 15616), scheduled for August 15, has also been withdrawn.<\/p>\n

Passengers travelling on several other routes will also have to follow revised timings. The Narangi-Agartala Express (Train No. 15650) will leave Narangi at 10:30 pm on August 14, while the Agartala-Narangi Express (Train No. 15649) is scheduled to depart Agartala at 11:30 pm the same night.<\/p>\n

The Guwahati-Sairang Express (Train No. 15609) will operate from Guwahati at 11:30 pm on August 14. Its return service, Train No. 15610, will leave Sairang at 9:30 pm.<\/p>\n

Changes have also been made to the Rangiya-Silchar route. Train No. 15611 will depart Rangiya at 11:30 pm on August 14, while Train No. 15612 will leave Silchar at 5 am on August 15.<\/p>\n

The Anand Vihar Terminal-Sairang Express (Train No. 20507), which is also affected by the operational arrangements, has been rescheduled to depart Sairang at 9:10 pm on August 14.<\/p>\n

NFR has further stated that the Anand Vihar Terminal-Agartala Tejas Express (Train No. 20502), which commenced its journey on August 12, may be regulated during its run depending on operational requirements.<\/p>\n

The railway authority said the temporary changes have been introduced to facilitate restoration work while maintaining safe train movement through the hill section. Passengers have been advised to verify their train’s latest departure time before setting out, as schedules may remain subject to operational conditions.<\/p>\n

The Lumding-Badarpur route is a crucial rail corridor connecting parts of Assam with destinations in the southern region of the state as well as Tripura and Mizoram. With restoration work still underway near New Harangajao, further adjustments to train operations may be made depending on the progress of the work and safety requirements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
