Sangma inaugurating Pine Home, an eco-tourism model project at Mawlangwir village.<\/p>\n<p>The project brings together environmental sustainability, traditional architectural influences and local craftsmanship, offering an approach to tourism that places greater emphasis on preserving the region\u2019s natural and cultural character.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Chief Minister, Pine Home has been developed with active community participation. Local residents have been involved in bringing the project to life while gaining experience in the use of environmentally friendly construction materials.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is intended to demonstrate how tourism infrastructure can be developed without compromising the natural surroundings or the traditions of local communities. Its design incorporates elements inspired by local architecture and craftsmanship, giving the project a distinct connection with the cultural identity of the area.<\/p>\n<p>The Pine Home project also highlights the potential for rural communities to participate directly in the tourism economy while promoting responsible and nature-based travel.<\/p>\n<p>Sangma said the initiative could serve as a model for sustainable tourism in Meghalaya, where development and environmental conservation can progress together.
