The collaborations are intended to strengthen teacher capacity, improve foundational learning and provide students with greater access to technology-enabled educational opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>Under the partnership with Google AI, teachers will be supported through AI-powered educational tools, digital skills training and professional development programmes. The initiative is expected to help educators make greater use of emerging technologies in their teaching practices.<\/p>\n<p>A major component of the programme will involve IIT Madras \u2013 Bodhan AI, which will focus on improving AI proficiency among teachers. According to the announcement, around one lakh teachers teaching Grades 6 to 12 are proposed to be trained by May 2027. The large-scale training initiative is aimed at building greater awareness and practical understanding of artificial intelligence among school educators.<\/p>\n<p>The state has also partnered with LEHS \u2013 Wadhwani AI to strengthen foundational literacy. Through the collaboration, AI-enabled assessment will be used to evaluate students&#8217; reading fluency, potentially helping educators identify learning gaps and provide appropriate support.<\/p>\n<p>Another partnership with Educate Girls will focus on adolescents who are outside the formal education system. The initiative will support efforts to identify, enrol and retain out-of-school adolescents, particularly girls, in education.<\/p>\n<p>The collaboration with EkStep \u2013 AXL will promote personalised learning supported by artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on foundational literacy and numeracy. The initiative seeks to use technology to provide learning support based on the needs of individual students.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Canva Education will contribute to efforts to strengthen digital literacy, creativity, design thinking and innovation among teachers and students. The partnership is expected to encourage the development of creative and technology-related skills within the school education system.<\/p>\n<p>Taken together, the six partnerships cover several critical areas of school education, ranging from teacher training and AI proficiency to foundational learning, student assessment, school enrolment, personalised education and digital creativity.<\/p>\n<p>Education Minister Ranoj Pegu described the collaborations as an important step towards developing a future-ready education system in Assam. The initiative aims to create a more inclusive and learner-centric environment while equipping teachers and students with skills suited to an increasingly technology-driven world.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed training of approximately one lakh teachers by May 2027 is expected to be a key element of Assam&#8217;s AI-focused education efforts.
