The announcement highlights the continued efforts to protect the state\u2019s iconic greater one-horned rhinoceroses.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on X, Sarma said the achievement reflected sustained efforts and an uncompromising approach towards wildlife protection. He noted that rhinos in Kaziranga had remained safe from poaching for more than three consecutive years and pledged to continue these efforts in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Kaziranga is one of India\u2019s most important wildlife conservation areas and is home to the world\u2019s largest population of greater one-horned rhinoceroses, according to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre. The park was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985 and also supports diverse wildlife, including tigers, elephants and wild water buffaloes.
