{"id":4662,"date":"2026-10-28T16:58:20","date_gmt":"2026-10-28T11:28:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/assamtalks.com\/en\/?p=4662"},"modified":"2026-10-28T16:58:20","modified_gmt":"2026-10-28T11:28:20","slug":"nfr-promotes-hearing-safety-among-railway-staff-through-awareness-programme-in-guwahati","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/assamtalks.com\/en\/nfr-promotes-hearing-safety-among-railway-staff-through-awareness-programme-in-guwahati\/","title":{"rendered":"NFR Promotes Hearing Safety Among Railway Staff Through Awareness Programme in Guwahati"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Guwahati:<\/strong> Protecting railway employees from hearing problems caused by prolonged exposure to workplace noise was the focus of a special awareness programme conducted by Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) at the New Guwahati Diesel Loco Shed.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative, organised in connection with World Audiologist Day, aimed to educate railway personnel about the risks of noise-induced hearing loss and the importance of early diagnosis, preventive care and timely medical consultation.<\/p>\n<p>Around 20 employees from the Mechanical and Electrical departments, including senior officials, technicians and loco pilots, attended the programme, which emphasised hearing conservation in railway working environments.<\/p>\n<p>During the session, Anirban Sarkar, Audiologist at Central Hospital, Maligaon, explained how excessive noise exposure can affect hearing and highlighted measures to minimise occupational hearing risks.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Ruby Doley, Senior Divisional Medical Officer (ENT), interacted with participants and addressed their concerns regarding hearing protection and preventive healthcare. Dr P.
