Guwahati: Security vigilance along Assam’s international border has reportedly foiled another suspected infiltration attempt, with 22 people allegedly trying to enter India being stopped before they could cross the border.
Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma shared the development in a post on X on Wednesday, saying that alert security forces deployed along the international border identified the group and prevented them from entering Indian territory.
According to the Chief Minister, the 22 individuals were intercepted right at the borderline during the alleged attempt to enter India illegally. He did not provide further details in the post regarding the identities or nationalities of those stopped, nor did he specify the exact location of the interception.
Sarma used the phrase “Assam Di Galli Vich: No Entry” while highlighting the action taken by the security forces. He also reiterated his government’s firm position against attempts at illegal infiltration across the state’s international borders.
