With the Assembly election process now complete, Himanta Biswa Sarma has voiced confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party will return to power in Assam with a comfortable majority.

Speaking in Jaipur after offering prayers at Khatu Shyam Temple and Salasar Balaji Temple on Friday, Sarma said that feedback from across the state points toward a strong performance by the BJP. He indicated that the party is well positioned to form the next government once results are declared.

The Chief Minister also commented on the situation in West Bengal, stating that although he has not personally campaigned there recently, reports from the ground suggest that the BJP is likely to perform well in that state too.

Urging restraint, Sarma called on political parties and the public to maintain peace in the days leading up to the results. He stressed that there is no need for tension or unrest, highlighting that the Election Commission of India has provided adequate time before the counting process.

Polling for the Assam Assembly elections has concluded, and counting of votes is scheduled for May 4. The state now waits for the final verdict after a closely followed electoral battle.
