Guwahati Police Arrest Alleged Drug Peddler with Heroin in Basistha Operation

Guwahati Police arrested an alleged drug peddler during an anti-narcotics operation carried out by a team from Basistha Police Station under the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD).

According to police, the accused has been identified as Sivam Pradhan, also known as Gorein, aged 23 and a resident of Khanapara in Meghalaya.

Police stated that the accused was apprehended with two boxes containing suspected heroin weighing around 28 grams. The team also recovered 34 empty vials believed to be used for storing or distributing narcotics.

The operation was conducted as part of the ongoing crackdown against drug trafficking in and around Guwahati. Officials said legal action has been initiated against the accused under relevant provisions of the law.

In a post shared on X, Guwahati Police highlighted the seizure and reiterated its continued efforts to curb the illegal drug trade in the city and neighbouring areas.
