The Assam government has revised the public holiday for Id-ul-Zuha in the state, shifting it from May 27 to May 28, 2026, following requests submitted to the administration.

In a notification issued by the General Administration Department on Monday, the government announced that all state government offices, revenue courts, and magisterial courts across Assam will remain closed on Thursday, May 28, to observe the festival.

The order also stated that banks and financial institutions throughout the state will remain shut on the same day under the provisions of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, along with related guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
