Guwahati, April 29: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has congratulated students who successfully cleared the Higher Secondary Final Examinations 2026 conducted by the Assam State School Education Council. The results for Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational streams were officially declared on April 28.
Sharing the details through a post on X, the minister praised the hard work and dedication of students, teachers and guardians. He also encouraged those who could not clear the examinations to remain positive and prepare for the supplementary examinations with determination.
According to the official figures released by the council, a total of 3,30,798 students appeared in the Higher Secondary examinations across the state this year. The overall pass percentage recorded was 81.54 percent.
The Arts stream registered the highest number of candidates. Out of 2,41,124 students who appeared in the examination, 1,91,798 students passed, taking the pass percentage to 79.54 percent. A total of 54,755 students secured first division marks in the stream.
In the Science stream, the performance remained impressive with a pass percentage of 89.79 percent. Out of 60,667 candidates who appeared, 54,474 students successfully passed the examination. The stream also recorded 34,079 first division holders.
The Commerce stream achieved a pass percentage of 81.13 percent. Among the 19,469 students who appeared, 15,796 students passed the examination, while 7,787 candidates secured first division.
Meanwhile, the Vocational stream recorded a pass percentage of 74.19 percent. Out of 1,465 candidates who appeared, 1,087 students cleared the examination and 92 students obtained first division marks.
Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, in his message, extended his best wishes to all successful candidates and urged students who were unable to clear the examinations not to lose confidence. He stated that the supplementary examinations would provide another opportunity for students to prove themselves through hard work and dedication.
The declaration of the Higher Secondary results has brought celebrations across Assam, with students and parents expressing joy over the successful outcomes. Schools and educational institutions in different districts also congratulated the achievers for their performances in the 2026 examinations.
