Guwahati: Newly admitted students at Gauhati University are set to begin their academic journey with dedicated induction programmes scheduled for the 2026–27 session, with separate sessions planned for students entering integrated master’s and postgraduate courses.

A second programme has been scheduled for newly admitted postgraduate students on August 12 at 2 pm, also at the B.K.B. Auditorium Hall.
The programmes are intended to familiarise incoming students with the university’s academic environment and provide them with an opportunity to interact with senior university officials and other distinguished guests at the beginning of their new academic phase.
According to a notification issued by the Secretary, University Classes, attendance has been requested for all newly admitted students of the respective programmes. The Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University, along with other invited guests, is expected to address the students during the induction sessions.
