Northeast Frontier Railway Cancels and Reschedules Trains Amid Restoration Work Near New Harangajao

Guwahati: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the cancellation, rescheduling and regulation of several trains in view of ongoing restoration work near New Harangajao station following the settlement of railway tracks.

According to a train update issued by NFR, the following services have been affected:

  • 15615 Guwahati–Silchar Express has been cancelled for August 23, 2026.
  • 15616 Silchar–Guwahati Express has been cancelled for August 24, 2026.
  • 15650 Narangi–Agartala Express, scheduled to commence its journey on August 23, 2026, has been rescheduled to depart Narangi at 6:30 pm.
  • 01666 Agartala–Rani Kamlapati Express, also scheduled for August 23, 2026, has been rescheduled to depart Agartala at 7:20 pm.
  • 12053 SMVT Bengaluru–Agartala Express, which commenced its journey on August 21, 2026, will be regulated en route as required.

Passengers travelling on the affected routes have been advised to check the latest train status before commencing their journey and make necessary travel arrangements accordingly.

NFR said the changes were necessitated by restoration work near New Harangajao station, where railway tracks have been affected by settlement.
