Dhemaji: Development block-level camps under the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan began across Dhemaji district on Tuesday, with Assam Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu participating in a camp at the Bordoloni Development Block.
Dr. Pegu was accompanied by Lakhimpur Lok Sabha MP Pradan Baruah during his visit to Bordoloni. The minister interacted with local residents and urged eligible beneficiaries to make full use of government services and welfare schemes being made available through the initiative.
According to Dr. Pegu, the camps aim to bring services linked to 24 government schemes closer to eligible beneficiaries, making it easier for people to access welfare and development programmes without having to travel far for assistance.
The initiative is intended to improve last-mile delivery of government services and ensure that eligible residents can access various schemes more conveniently. The response at Bordoloni was described as encouraging, with the minister saying the programme would strengthen efforts to extend development benefits to different sections of society.
Bordoloni is one of the officially recognised development blocks in Dhemaji district, which has five development blocks.
The Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan camps are expected to provide residents with easier access to government schemes and services at the local level, while also helping officials connect directly with potential beneficiaries.
