Foundation Stone Laid for Integrated Judicial Court Complex in North Guwahati

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said the long-felt need for a new campus of the Gauhati High Court is being addressed through the development of a modern Judicial Township on the North Bank of Guwahati, designed to meet the growing and contemporary requirements of the judicial system.

Highlighting the significance of the project, the Chief Minister stated that the new judicial campus will provide improved infrastructure and facilities, enabling the judiciary to function more efficiently while enhancing access to justice for the public.

Earlier in the day, Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant laid the foundation stone of the Integrated Judicial Court Complex at Rangmahal, North Guwahati. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Sarma, along with judges of the Supreme Court and the Gauhati High Court.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the Integrated Judicial Court Complex has been envisioned as a modern judicial hub. The project reflects the Assam government’s commitment to strengthening judicial institutions, improving service delivery, and creating people-centric infrastructure rooted in efficiency, dignity, and public trust.
