Guwahati: With cleanliness activities continuing across the city, senior officials of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) have taken stock of the ongoing work under the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign.
The assessment was carried out by GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania along with GMC Commissioner Chinmoy Prakash Phookan, ACS, State Mission Director of Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) Sabyasachi Kashyap, ACS, and GMC Additional Commissioner Pranab Dutta Goswami, ACS.
During the review, the officials examined the various programmes and initiatives being implemented as part of the city-wide cleanliness campaign. Particular attention was given to the progress and regular execution of activities planned for each day.
The officials discussed the need for proper coordination and timely implementation of the campaign’s scheduled programmes. The review was also aimed at ensuring that the initiatives being undertaken under Swachhata Hi Seva are implemented effectively at the ground level.
The campaign forms part of broader cleanliness and civic participation efforts under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). Through such activities, civic authorities are seeking to maintain momentum around cleanliness initiatives and encourage greater participation in efforts to improve urban sanitation.
The latest review reflects the GMC’s continued focus on monitoring the implementation of Swachhata Hi Seva activities in Guwahati and ensuring that the programmes are carried out as planned.
