Guwahati, September 6, 2026: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced further changes to several train services following progress in restoration work at New Harangajao. According to the latest train update issued by NFR, Line Nos. 2 and 3 at New Harangajao have been restored, while work on Line No. 1 is continuing.
In view of the ongoing work, the railway has revised the operation of a number of trains, including cancellations, rescheduling of departure times and regulation of trains en route.
The Guwahati–Dullabcherra Express (Train No. 15617) scheduled for September 7, 2026, has been cancelled. Its corresponding Dullabcherra–Guwahati Express (Train No. 15618) scheduled for September 8 has also been cancelled.
The Narangi–Agartala Express (Train No. 15650), scheduled for September 6 and September 7, will now depart from Narangi at 6:30 pm. The Agartala–Anand Vihar Terminal Tejas Express (Train No. 20501) scheduled for September 7 has also been rescheduled and will depart from Agartala at 7:00 pm.
Passengers travelling on the Silchar–New Delhi Poorvottar Sampark Kranti Express (Train No. 14037) on September 7 will also face a revised departure schedule. The train will now leave Silchar at 10:10 pm.
Meanwhile, the Kolkata–Agartala Express (Train No. 12501) scheduled for September 6 will be regulated en route suitably, as per the latest railway notification.
The latest changes have been introduced in connection with restoration activities at New Harangajao. While the restoration of two lines represents progress in normalising railway operations through the section, work on Line No. 1 is still underway. The operational adjustments are therefore being made to facilitate railway operations while the remaining work progresses.
NFR has advised passengers to take note of the revised schedules and cancellations before travelling. Passengers are also advised to check the latest running status of their respective trains through official railway channels before leaving for the station, as operational arrangements may be subject to further changes.
