Guwahati: Passengers travelling through the Lumding–Badarpur Hill Section will face fresh disruptions after the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) announced cancellations, revised departure timings and regulation of several train services due to ongoing restoration work near New Harangajao station in Assam’s Dima Hasao district.

The latest operational changes come after railway tracks on Line-1 and Line-2 were affected by ground settlement. While repair work is underway, train services are currently being operated through Line-3 under enhanced safety measures to ensure uninterrupted movement wherever possible.

As part of the revised schedule, Train No. 15617 Guwahati–Dullabcherra Express and Train No. 15615 Guwahati–Silchar Express, scheduled to depart on August 3, have been cancelled. In addition, Train No. 15618 Dullabcherra–Guwahati Express and Train No. 15616 Silchar–Guwahati Express, scheduled to commence on August 4, will also remain cancelled.

NFR has also revised the schedules of several other services operating on the route. These include the Narangi–Agartala Express, Agartala–Narangi Express, Guwahati–Sairang Express, Sairang–Guwahati Express, Rangiya–Silchar Express, and Silchar–Rangiya Express.

Additionally, the Agartala–Anand Vihar Terminal Tejas Express and the Silchar–New Delhi Poorvottar Sampark Kranti Express will operate under revised timings. The Charlapalli–Silchar Express and the Kolkata–Agartala Garib Rath Express are also expected to experience delays as they will be regulated en route.

According to NFR, the temporary changes are necessary to facilitate restoration work while maintaining safe train operations in the affected section. Railway engineers are working on a priority basis to restore the damaged tracks and resume normal services at the earliest.

Passengers are advised to check the latest train status before starting their journey, as schedules may be revised further depending on the progress of restoration work.
