Guwahati: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has extended the operation of the Santragachi–Naharlagun–Santragachi Special Train for five additional trips in each direction to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the peak travel season.
According to an official release, Train No. 08047 will operate every Friday from Santragachi between July 3 and July 31. The train will depart at 6:00 pm and reach Naharlagun at 8:50 pm the following day.
In the return direction, Train No. 08048 will depart Naharlagun every Saturday from July 4 to August 1 at 11:55 pm and arrive at Santragachi at 4:15 am on Monday.
NFR stated that the extension of the special train services is intended to provide additional connectivity between West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh while easing the extra rush of passengers. The move is also expected to help accommodate passengers who are currently on waiting lists for other trains.
The railway has advised passengers to check the latest train timings and stoppages before commencing their journey to avoid any inconvenience.
