Guwahati, April 15: Acting swiftly on a reported burglary in Bilahugaon under Saukuchi, the Guwahati Police have solved the case, leading to the arrest of three habitual offenders and recovery of stolen property.
According to an official update shared by Guwahati Police on X, a team from Basistha Police Station under the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) launched a prompt investigation following the complaint. The team acted quickly, using local intelligence inputs and technical tracking to identify those involved.
Within a short time, the suspects were traced and apprehended. The arrested individuals have been identified as Samson Sebremgama (22), Amrit Chouhan (26), and Rakesh Kalita (30). Police officials stated that all three are known offenders with prior involvement in similar burglary cases.
During the operation, police recovered key items connected to the crime. These include an e-rickshaw believed to have been used in carrying out the burglary, along with two stolen batteries and a mobile handset. The recovered items are expected to serve as crucial evidence in the case.
Officials highlighted that the quick and coordinated response by the Basistha Police team was instrumental in solving the case efficiently. The operation also helped prevent potential further criminal activities in the area.
Legal action has been initiated against the accused, and further investigation is underway to determine whether they are linked to other pending theft or burglary cases in Guwahati.
