Action against ‘fake’ pharmacists by government in Assam
Guwahati: The Assam Pharmacy Council is contemplating stringent action against ‘fake’ pharmacists operating without the required qualifications.
Bhuban Chandra Das registrar of APC told that till now they have identified 754 fake pharmacies in the state. Further, cases have also been registered against such pharmacies.
A verification committee has been constituted to the do the required work.
It is a serious matter. People dispensing medicines need to have the required knowledge and expertise. But it is seen that many fake pharmacists have been lending such services without the required qualifications. Some running such business does not even have the minimum qualification.
Bhuban Chandra Das said, “Now those pharmacies who come for fresh registration, before giving them the registration we will verify from respective documents and authorities and we will provide registration to them only after receiving the verification report from the respective authorities,”.
