Curfew has been enforced in parts of Manipur’s Ukhrul district following incidents of arson in villages around Litan, which heightened tension in the area. According to Manipur Police, miscreants set fire to a few houses during the previous night, prompting authorities to take immediate preventive action.

Police said prohibitory orders, including the imposition of curfew, have been put in place and sufficient security personnel deployed to prevent any further escalation. The situation, though sensitive, is reported to be largely under control.

To strengthen coordination among security agencies, a Joint Control Room has been set up at Litan Police Station. Senior police officers have also been deployed in the area and are closely monitoring developments on the ground.

The police have appealed to residents to remain calm and cooperate with the administration as security forces continue efforts to stabilise the situation.
