Imphal, Manipur, September 19, 2026: A total of 198 NCC girl cadets took part in a 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-136) organised for the 65 NCC Girls Battalion, Manipur, with the camp concluding at the New Keithalmanbi Garrison on September 18.
The training programme was facilitated by the Assam Rifles and was conducted from September 9 to September 18, 2026. The camp was designed to provide participating cadets with practical exposure to a range of physical, military and field-oriented activities.
During the 10-day programme, the NCC cadets underwent training in physical fitness, drill, tactical training, map reading, .22 rifle firing and fieldcraft. The activities were aimed at developing discipline, physical preparedness, teamwork and practical skills among the young participants.
The training also provided the cadets with opportunities to participate in sports and various competitions held during the camp. At the conclusion of the programme, prizes were presented to participants who performed in different sporting and competitive events.
The camp ended with a cultural programme featuring performances highlighting the rich cultural heritage of Manipur. The concluding event brought together the participating cadets and provided an opportunity to showcase the state’s traditions and cultural diversity alongside the training activities.
According to the Assam Rifles, CATC-136 provided the NCC girls with a combination of structured training, physical activities, field skills and cultural engagement during their 10-day stay at New Keithalmanbi.
The training camp is part of the NCC’s broader programme of developing discipline, leadership, physical fitness and practical skills among young cadets. Such camps also provide participants with an opportunity to work collectively and experience activities beyond their regular academic environment.
The Assam Rifles shared details of the camp through its official social media account, highlighting the participation of the 198 NCC girls and the range of activities conducted during the programme.
The successful completion of CATC-136 marked the conclusion of the 10-day training programme at New Keithalmanbi Garrison, with the cadets returning after taking part in training, competitions and cultural activities.
