Amid ongoing concerns over highway safety, Khemchand Yumnam chaired a high-level meeting to review and strengthen security arrangements along key National Highways in Manipur.
The meeting, held at the State Secretariat, brought together senior officials to assess the current security situation and ensure the uninterrupted movement of people and goods across the state. The review is part of the government’s broader effort to reinforce law and order while restoring public confidence in vital transport routes.
Emphasising the importance of secure highways, the Chief Minister stated that protecting lives and maintaining smooth transit remain top priorities. In a message shared on X on Thursday, he reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring safe and efficient connectivity across Manipur.
During the meeting, Yumnam issued clear instructions to officials to take firm action against any elements attempting to disrupt normal movement. He directed authorities to ensure that highways remain fully operational and secure at all times.
“Strict directives have been issued to effectively deal with disruptive and recalcitrant elements, ensuring safe corridors and smooth transit across the state,” the Chief Minister said.
He further affirmed that the state government remains resolute in its commitment to maintaining peace, stability, and public trust through coordinated and decisive measures.
The review underscores Manipur’s continued focus on strengthening security infrastructure and ensuring that critical transportation networks function without disruption.
