Fuel prices witnessed another sharp increase across the country on Monday, marking the fourth hike within the last two weeks. The latest revision pushed petrol prices in Delhi beyond the Rs 100 mark, while diesel rates also saw a significant rise.
In the national capital, petrol prices increased by Rs 2.61 to reach Rs 102.12 per litre, while diesel rose by Rs 2.71 and is now being sold at Rs 95.20 per litre.
Kolkata recorded one of the steepest hikes, with petrol prices climbing by Rs 2.87 to Rs 113.51 per litre. Diesel prices in the city also went up by Rs 2.80, reaching Rs 99.82 per litre.
In Mumbai, petrol became costlier by Rs 2.72 and is now priced at Rs 111.21 per litre. Diesel rates increased by Rs 2.81 to Rs 97.83 per litre.
Meanwhile, in Chennai, petrol prices rose by Rs 2.46 to Rs 107.77 per litre, while diesel increased by Rs 2.57 and touched Rs 99.55 per litre.
The repeated hikes in fuel prices are expected to impact transportation costs and daily expenses across the country.
