Charaideo, Assam | July 22: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited a flood relief camp in Charaideo on Tuesday to take stock of the arrangements made for people displaced by the ongoing floods and reassure affected families of the state’s continued support.
During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted with residents staying at the camp and reviewed the facilities being provided to ensure their safety and well-being. He also inspected the availability of essential services being extended to those taking shelter at the relief centre.
Following the inspection, Sarma said medical teams have been deployed at the camp and that all essential services required for the flood-affected families are available.
Addressing the concerns of the displaced residents, the Chief Minister assured them that the Assam Government would remain committed to supporting them through every stage of the relief, rehabilitation and recovery process.
“We will stand by every family through relief, rehabilitation and recovery,” Sarma said while sharing details of his visit on his official X handle.
The visit reflects the state government’s continued focus on monitoring relief measures in flood-affected areas and ensuring that people staying in relief camps have access to basic necessities and medical assistance.
Authorities are expected to continue reviewing the situation as flood relief operations remain underway in affected parts of the state.
