Guwahati: The cleanliness campaign in Guwahati has moved into its assessment stage, with teams from the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) carrying out field evaluations of 352 participating committees under the Swachh Guwahati Competition.

The GMC said its core evaluation team is currently visiting the participating committees and examining their performance against the prescribed assessment criteria.

The ongoing exercise is intended to identify committees that have performed particularly well in maintaining cleanliness and improving their local surroundings. Their efforts will be considered for recognition under the competition.

The civic body said the initiative is focused not only on identifying top-performing participants but also on encouraging community involvement in efforts to make Guwahati cleaner, greener and more hygienic.

With hundreds of committees involved, the competition places emphasis on local-level participation in maintaining cleaner neighbourhoods and strengthening public engagement in the city’s cleanliness initiatives.

The evaluation process is currently underway, and the participating committees will be assessed according to the established parameters before the best-performing teams are identified and recognised.
