Meghalaya Reviews IT Infrastructure Expansion, Advances Shillong and Tura Tech Parks

Shillong, Meghalaya: The Meghalaya Government has reviewed key developments in the state’s information technology sector, including operational improvements at the State Data Centre and the progress of IT park projects in Shillong and Tura, during separate Governing Body meetings chaired by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma.

According to the Chief Minister, the Governing Body of the Meghalaya Information Technology Society (MITS) discussed the proposed rate card for hosting services at the State Data Centre, along with several important operational matters aimed at strengthening the state’s digital infrastructure and enhancing the delivery of IT-enabled services.

In a separate meeting, the Governing Body of the Meghalaya Technology Parks Society (MTPS) reviewed the progress of the IT Park Phase II project in Shillong and the upcoming IT Park in Tura. The meeting also assessed efforts to attract potential clients and businesses to occupy workspaces at the Shillong Tech Park (Phase II), a key initiative expected to promote the growth of the state’s technology ecosystem.

The review forms part of the Meghalaya Government’s ongoing efforts to expand digital infrastructure, encourage investment in the information technology sector, create employment opportunities, and position the state as an emerging technology hub in Northeast India.

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma shared details of the meetings through a post on X, reaffirming the government’s commitment to accelerating the development of modern IT infrastructure and fostering innovation-driven economic growth across Meghalaya.
