Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on X said over 24,000 women from Dimoria have received ₹10,000 each under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA), marking another step towards women-led economic empowerment in the state.

Highlighting the government’s vision of creating 40 lakh “Lakhpati Baideus,” Sarma said the assistance would help women achieve self-reliance with dignity. He added that the initiative aims to inspire more mothers and sisters to take up entrepreneurship.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had announced that Goalpara recorded its largest outreach under MMUA, with more than 28,000 women receiving ₹10,000 each. He noted that with seed funding and credit support, Assam has already crossed 14 lakh women entrepreneurs, steadily moving towards the 40-lakh target.
