Guwahati: Guwahati Police on Friday said that the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) has made further progress in the godown burglary case with the arrest of two more accused during raids conducted in Jagiroad.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a team from Basistha Police Station carried out operations at Chakumaku and Nakhola Basti in Jagiroad, leading to the apprehension of two veteran burglars identified as Javed Ali (45) and Abdul Rahman, also known as Adu (43), both residents of Jagiroad.
Police also recovered a truck bearing registration number AS02-DC-4737, which was allegedly used in the commission of the crime.
With these arrests, the total number of accused held in connection with the case has gone up to 10. Guwahati Police said further investigation is underway to trace additional links and recover stolen property.
