Raijor Dal president and Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi on Sunday released the party’s manifesto for the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, outlining a roadmap for what he described as a prosperous, skilled, secure, and united Assam.
The manifesto places strong emphasis on agrarian reforms, with a commitment to ensure assured minimum support prices (MSP) for more than 20 crops. It also proposes strengthening small, cottage, and village-based industries to boost local employment and economic self-reliance. To encourage entrepreneurship, the party promised the creation of a ₹5,000 crore start-up fund, alongside large-scale skill development initiatives focused on artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
On the social front, Raijor Dal pledged free and quality education and healthcare for all, restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for government employees, and loan waivers for women. The manifesto also promises increased honorariums for frontline workers, including ASHA, Anganwadi, and other grassroots service providers.
Reiterating its ideological stand, the party reaffirmed its opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and called for the detection and deportation of foreigners who entered Assam after 1971, in line with the Assam Accord. It further committed to securing land rights for indigenous communities and tea garden workers.
Addressing Assam’s recurring flood problem, Raijor Dal proposed scientific and long-term flood management solutions. The manifesto also advocates greater administrative and financial autonomy for tribal regions and Sixth Schedule areas to ensure inclusive development.
With this manifesto, Raijor Dal aims to position itself as a people-centric alternative in the run-up to the 2026 Assembly elections.
