Guwahati, November 2, 2026: The role of young Indians in shaping the country’s future took centre stage at the 32nd National Session of the Indian Youth Parliament in Madhya Pradesh, where Assam Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal called for greater youth participation in national development.

Addressing young delegates at the event held in Mandsaur, Singhal emphasised that the country’s progress would depend not only on the aspirations of its younger generation but also on their determination to translate ideas into meaningful action.

The Assam Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research shared details of his participation through a post on social media platform X on November 1.

Ashok Singhal Highlights Importance of Youth Leadership

Singhal expressed satisfaction over the opportunity to interact with young participants representing different parts of India.

Reflecting on the discussions, he described the younger generation as a driving force capable of influencing the country’s social, economic and developmental future.

The minister stressed the importance of confidence, commitment and forward-looking thinking among young citizens, encouraging them to take an active role in addressing national challenges.

He also highlighted the responsibility of young Indians to move beyond aspirations and contribute through constructive action.

According to Singhal, the country’s future will be influenced by the ideas, initiatives and leadership demonstrated by its youth today.

PM Modi’s Viksit Bharat Vision Finds Mention

During his interaction, Singhal referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat, which seeks to transform India into a developed nation by 2047.

He said the Prime Minister had placed considerable emphasis on Yuva Shakti, or youth power, as an important contributor to the country’s development journey.

The minister encouraged young participants to demonstrate conviction in their ideas, develop leadership qualities and use their abilities for the broader benefit of society.

His remarks reflected the government’s stated emphasis on involving young people in education, innovation, entrepreneurship, civic participation and other areas of national development.

Indian Youth Parliament Brings Young Minds Together

The 32nd National Session of the Indian Youth Parliament was organised in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, with the theme “Swa Bodh – Self Awakening.”

The programme was designed to provide young participants with opportunities to exchange ideas, discuss contemporary issues and develop a deeper understanding of democratic processes and civic responsibilities.

The Indian Youth Parliament initiative seeks to encourage dialogue among young people while promoting leadership development, public speaking and participation in discussions concerning national and social issues.

The Mandsaur session brought together participants from different regions, offering a forum for discussions on governance, democratic values and the responsibilities of younger generations.

Youth Participation Linked to India’s Development Goals

The emphasis on youth engagement comes as India continues to promote initiatives designed to encourage young citizens to contribute ideas towards the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

Government programmes such as the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue have also sought to provide platforms for youth participation in policy discussions, leadership development and innovation.

Such initiatives aim to connect young people’s perspectives with broader national development priorities, including education, employment, entrepreneurship and social progress.

At the Mandsaur gathering, Singhal’s message centred on the belief that young citizens have a responsibility to participate actively in shaping the country’s future.

Concluding his social media message, the minister linked the potential of Yuva Shakti with the national aspiration of Viksit Bharat, reiterating his emphasis on youth-led contributions to India’s long-term development.
