Shamator, Nagaland: Assam Rifles organised a free dental camp at Sangphur Village in Nagaland’s Shamator district on August 21, 2026, extending oral healthcare services and awareness to residents of the remote community.
According to Assam Rifles, military dental officers conducted oral health check-ups and consultations, while also providing tooth extractions and preventive screenings for members of the local community.
The programme included awareness sessions for schoolchildren and village elders, focusing on the importance of maintaining oral hygiene, adopting healthy dietary habits and seeking timely dental care.
As part of the initiative, essential dental care kits, including toothbrushes and toothpaste, were distributed free of cost. Prescribed medicines were also provided to beneficiaries requiring further treatment.
The outreach programme was aimed at improving access to preventive and basic dental healthcare in the area while promoting greater awareness about oral health among community members.
Assam Rifles said the initiative reflected its continued focus on community welfare and preventive healthcare outreach in remote areas of the Northeast.
