Dhemaji: A total of 574 cook-cum-helpers from the Bordoloni Education Block were honoured at Gogamukh Higher Secondary School in Dhemaji for their contribution to the implementation of the PM POSHAN programme. Assam Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu attended the programme along with Lakhimpur Lok Sabha MP Pradan Baruah and presented certificates of excellence and cheques to the workers.

The recognition programme was held as part of the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, which, according to Dr. Pegu, is marking 25 years of public service by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that 1,07,047 cook-cum-helpers across Assam would be honoured under the initiative. The PM POSHAN scheme provides for the engagement and payment of cook-cum-helpers responsible for preparing and serving school meals.

Dr. Pegu appreciated the contribution of the PM POSHAN workers in ensuring the regular delivery of nutritious meals to schoolchildren. The programme highlighted the role of cook-cum-helpers in supporting the implementation of the school meal programme at the grassroots level.

The event was held at Gogamukh in Dhemaji district, where the official district administration lists the Block Elementary Education Officer’s office for Bordoloni at Mainapara, Gogamukh. Government records also identify Bordoloni HS School as a school in Dhemaji district.
