Dergaon: A video clip of a Dergaon based student leader of the All Assam Students Union joining ULFA is doing rounds in the social media platforms. Pankaj Pratim Dutta, the Vice President of All Assam Students Union(AASU )
Pankaj, 27, was serving as the vice-president of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) unit in Dergaon of Assam’s Golaghat district before joining ULfA.
According to his father, Tarun Dutta, one month ago Pankaj went to Guwahati, saying he is going for a stroll, and shall come back home within 15-20 days, and has since been missing.
On Wednesday 25th of October 2018, Pankaj posted a video on facebook stating that he had joined UlFA, and he apologizes to AASU members for taking the decision to join ULFA-I without informing them. Pankaj said he firmly believes there is no alternative to ULFA-I in protecting the existence of Assam through the fight for sovereignty.
Assam police also appealed to Pankaj to return home, adding that he had been interrogated before on alleged links with the outfit.
