Guwahati: With monsoon-related waterlogging continuing to remain a concern in several parts of Guwahati, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) carried out an inspection at Sub-Path No. 2 in Basisthapur to assess drainage conditions and ongoing civic works.

Officials concerned were instructed to take immediate steps to facilitate the quick discharge of stagnant water from the affected area. The civic authorities also stressed the need for advance preparations during the monsoon to minimise waterlogging and prevent avoidable urban flooding.
The inspection was conducted in response to concerns over water accumulation in the area, with authorities maintaining that providing relief to residents and improving drainage management remain key priorities.
GMC Commissioner Chinmoy Prakash Phookan, Ward No. 41 Councillor Basanti Kalita Duwara and other departmental officials were also present during the inspection.
